On the 9th of October 2018, the Lord Lieutenant of South Yorkshire attended Double Six Youth Club, to present a letter of good will about the good work that Boy's and Girl's Club South Yorkshire do to support young people and youth clubs.
The letter is going to be taken down to parliament by two young people and will be presented to MP's on the 23rd of October 2018.
My name is Hannah and I have been coming for around a year. Here is my blog about why I come to Double Six Youth Club!
What does the youth club mean to me?
The youth club is a fun and amazing place to be. I come here all the time because there is lots of things to do, and you can hang out with children that are not always the same age as you.
Why did you start coming to the youth club and what keeps you coming?
I started the youth club because somebody told me to go, because it was awesome! I kept going because I thought the youth club was the best place for me, there is things for everyone like: any sports you want to play, crafting, baking, playing pool, listening to songs, playing with friends and new friends and talking to the amazing, helpful, funny workers.
What would you say to someone who is thinking of coming to the youth club?
Please come to the youth club there is everything for you and it’s only a pound, whatever you’re interested in you can do. Everyone who has come has stayed, people aged from 9 to 19. You are guaranteed not to be bored and when you come once, you will want to come all the time, Tuesday and Thursday’s for everyone, and Wednesdays (if you’re a girl).
What do you think to Girls Night?
Girl’s night is my favourite one of them all, it’s on a Wednesday because we do so many activities like: life learning skills, we make it fun so you can remember, we sometimes do baking, sports, gain advice which will help you in the future.
